Accessibility
Timber Construction Today is published by TC Media Group. We want everyone to be able to read it, whatever device or assistive technology they use.
How the site is built
- Every page is plain HTML that works without JavaScript, with one heading structure and a skip link to the main content.
- Text can be resized to at least 200% without loss of content, and the layout works on a phone with no sideways scrolling.
- Colours meet the WCAG 2.2 AA contrast ratio, and links are underlined or otherwise distinguishable without colour.
- Every photograph, chart and graphic has a text description. Charts also give their figures in the description and in a table on the page.
- Tables have captions and header cells, and the site has no autoplaying media, pop-ups or cookie banners.
We test pages against the WCAG 2.2 AA standard with automated checks before each release, and aim for every page type to pass in full.
Known limitations
Photographs supplied by organisations in a story are described by us from what they show. PDF documents linked from stories are published by other organisations and may not be accessible.
Photographs, graphics, logos and maps
Every photograph carries a credit naming who took or issued it. Charts and graphics are drawn by Timber Construction Today from the figures in the story. Company logos in the directory come from each company's own website and are shown only to identify that company; trade marks belong to their owners.
Locator maps are drawn by Timber Construction Today. The outline of the UK and Ireland is made with Natural Earth, which is in the public domain. Positions come from postcodes and place names looked up through postcodes.io, which uses open data published under the Open Government Licence v3.0: contains OS data © Crown copyright and database right 2026; contains Royal Mail data © Royal Mail copyright and database right 2026; contains National Statistics data © Crown copyright and database right 2026. A marker shows the area of a postcode or the centre of a town, not an exact address. Each map has a text description naming the place.
