Got a story?
Tell Timber Construction Today what is happening
Contract wins, starts on site, completions, appointments, apprentices, awards, charity work, new kit, new ways of working. If it is happening in your part of the industry, we want to hear about it, and genuine news is published free of charge. Send a photograph with it: a story is published only with a picture from the people involved.
Email hello@timberconstructiontoday.co.uk
What to send
- What has happened, who is involved, where and when, in your own words. A press release is fine, so is a few lines.
- A photograph you have the right to publish (JPEG or PNG, at least 1,200 pixels wide, ideally 1,600, landscape), attached to the email rather than linked, with a note of how to credit it. This is not optional: we do not run submitted stories with stock pictures or graphics, so a story without a photograph waits until one arrives. A story with a photograph from the organisation involved can lead the home page.
- A name and number for queries, which we will not publish.
What happens next
Every email is read and acknowledged. If no photograph came with the story we reply asking for one, and the story goes to the editors as soon as it arrives. A story is researched from the material you send and from public sources, written in our house style, checked against those sources, and published with your photograph once our picture desk has checked it, usually within two working days. You get the live link by email. We may ask for a detail or a better picture.
What we do not publish
Product promotions, offers and sales messages are not news; we will offer a labelled advertisement feature instead (see advertising). We do not publish allegations, disputes, accidents or enforcement action. Our editorial standards explain the rest.
Correcting a story
If we have got something wrong, email the same address with the link and the correction. See the corrections page.
